Minnesota Twins sign Carlos Santana to a one-year, $5.25M contract, with additional performance bonuses, to replace some offensive production after trading Jorge Polanco.

The Minnesota Twins have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with free agent first baseman Carlos Santana. The 37-year-old veteran switch-hitter is set to receive a payment of $5.25 million, plus additional performance bonuses. Santana's addition to the team could help offset some of the lost offensive production following the trade of second baseman Jorge Polanco to Seattle. He has a career average of .242 with 301 home runs and 1,011 RBIs in 1,930 games.
