Central Bank of Lebanon allows $150 monthly withdrawals from post-Oct 2019 accounts amid economic crisis and currency devaluation.

Amid an ongoing financial crisis, Lebanon's Central Bank has issued a directive allowing depositors to make limited withdrawals. Accounts opened after October 31, 2019, will permit withdrawals of up to USD 150 per month. This is a measure to cope with the severe financial situation Lebanon has faced since 2019, with the Central Bank still examining legislation related to the recovery of bank deposits. The proposed legislation prioritizes small deposits of less than USD 100,000 and aims to promptly return these amounts, with larger sums reimbursed but over an extended timescale.
