Shintaro Fujinami, NPB All-Star, agreed on a $3.35M, one-year contract with the NY Mets, pending a physical.

Shintaro Fujinami, a Japanese relief pitcher, has agreed to a $3.35 million, one-year contract with the New York Mets, subject to a successful physical. Fujinami previously played for the Hanshin Tigers in Japan's Central League. The Mets have also agreed to sign left-handed pitcher Jake Diekman on a one-year contract, pending a physical. Both players are significant additions to a Mets bullpen that struggled last year but is now looking much deeper under new president of baseball operations David Stearns.
