NSW EPA issues clean-up notices to Transport for NSW and Sydney Metro for asbestos in recycled mulch at sites, requiring investigation.

The NSW Environment Protection Authority issued two clean-up notices to Transport for NSW and Sydney Metro after asbestos was found in recycled mulch at a series of sites. The notices require investigation into the presence of asbestos, particularly in the mulch used for landscaping purposes, following the discovery of asbestos at Rozelle Parklands earlier this year. The EPA has not yet mandated the removal of all recycled mulch, but remediation measures may be required based on the reports.
