A special SC/ST court in Mathura has sentenced 15 men to life imprisonment for a 22-year-old case of violence against the Dalit community in India. The incident, which involved a dispute over panchayat land, resulted in the death of a six-month-old infant and injuries to other members of the Dalit community. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 73,000 on each of the convicted individuals.
