Cold snap increases cold-stunned sea turtles along Gulf Coast; conservation groups rescue, rehab, and release them.

A recent cold snap has led to an increase in cold-stunned sea turtles along the Gulf Coast. These turtles, affected by low water temperatures, become immobilized due to their lowered internal body temperature. Conservation and animal rescue groups have been bringing these cold-stunned turtles to the marine institute for evaluation and rehabilitation. The turtles are slowly warmed up and tagged before being released back into the ocean.
