Study at ACC Cardiovascular Summit finds CTA beneficial as initial diagnostic test for stable chest pain, associated with higher revascularization rates than alternative imaging methods.

A recent study presented at the American College of Cardiology Cardiovascular Summit has found that using computed tomography angiography (CTA) as an initial diagnostic test for patients with stable chest pain is beneficial. The study revealed that CT scans were associated with higher rates of revascularization compared to other imaging modalities or no testing. This supports the "CT first" strategy, which has been shown in previous research to be more effective than traditional methods for assessing people with chest pain.
