A raccoon made contact with Hydro One equipment at a downtown Toronto station, causing a power outage affecting around 7,000 Toronto Hydro customers. The outage began at approximately 7:40 p.m. and was resolved by about 10:20 p.m. Customers in the area bounded by St. Clair Avenue West, Gerrard Street West, Avenue Road, and the Don Valley Parkway were affected. Crews worked closely with Hydro One to restore power as quickly and safely as possible, and no injuries were reported.
