Georgia Power Co. announced that vibrations in the cooling system of its second new nuclear reactor, Plant Vogtle's Unit 4, will delay its commercial operation until the second quarter of 2024. This is the latest setback for the Plant Vogtle expansion, a project billions over budget and plagued by delays. Once operational, the two reactors combined will produce enough carbon-free electricity to power 1 million homes.
