Indian gov't plans to sell subsidized rice 'Bharat Rice' at Rs 29/kg to combat rising prices and curb hoarding next week.

The Indian government plans to sell a subsidized brand of rice, called "Bharat Rice," at Rs 29 per kg in the retail market, starting next week. This move is intended to give relief to the common man and control rising rice prices. The government has also directed traders and processors to disclose their rice stock positions on the government's website to curb hoarding. Retail and wholesale prices of rice have increased by around 15% in the last one year despite restrictions on exports of various varieties.
