Six common dolphins stranded on Anglesey beach in Wales; five rescued by British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) and returned to sea, but one adult dolphin found dead.

Six common dolphins were found stranded on an Anglesey beach in Wales. Thanks to the efforts of the British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) volunteers, five of the dolphins were rescued and guided back into the sea during a rising tide. However, one adult dolphin was sadly found dead on the shore. Dolphins can survive out of water for around 12 hours, but being on land can pose a critical risk as the weight of their bodies can cut off oxygen supply to their organs. The BDMLR team worked together with nearby RAF Valley and other volunteers to successfully return the dolphins to the open water.
