Nebraska State Patrol trooper in a crash en route to assist Lincoln PD on Highway 77, hitting ice and causing collision with two other vehicles; all drivers hospitalized and released.

A Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) trooper responding to a call for assistance from the Lincoln Police Department was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 77 near Van Dorn. Around 12:25 a.m., while en route with activated lights and siren, the trooper's vehicle hit ice on the roadway, lost control, and rear-ended a Chevrolet Malibu in the northbound lanes. The patrol vehicle then crossed the median and collided with a southbound Chrysler Pacifica. All three drivers were transported to the hospital and released. The Lincoln Police Department is investigating the crash.
