Michael Egan, longest-serving treasurer in NSW history, dies.

Michael Egan, the longest-serving treasurer in NSW history, has passed away at the age of 75. Mr. Egan held the position as treasurer for a full decade under the Labor government led by Bob Carr, from 1995 to 2005. Throughout his career, he also served as the Macquarie University chancellor from 2008 to 2019 and was a member of the Legislative Council for over 18 years.
