CIF invests $300M, including $46.4M initial loan & $5M grant, into Kenya's renewable energy sector to achieve 100% clean energy by 2030.

The Climate Investment Funds (CIF) is investing nearly $300 million into Kenya's renewable energy sector to help integrate clean energy into the country's grid and achieve a goal of using 100% clean energy by 2030. The funding, announced on Wednesday, consists of an initial allocation of $46.4 million by CIF with the potential to draw in an additional $243 million from the public and private sectors. The funding from CIF is largely in the form of a loan, with $5 million in the form of a grant.
