Canadian grocery chain Metro has warned consumers that they can expect price hikes on some products starting next week as suppliers are set to end their paused price increases, leading to higher costs for grocers who will then pass these costs on to consumers. The Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers is working on a plan to stabilize the industry and drive down prices, but two large Canadian grocers, Loblaw and Walmart, have not joined the initiative.
