At the request of the mayor of Kyiv, the UK Transport Secretary has confirmed that there are no legal obstacles to the sending of non-Ulez compliant cars to Ukraine as war aid.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has been told by the UK government that there are no legal barriers to sending non-Ulez-compliant cars to Ukraine. The Ulez scheme allows drivers to hand in cars that do not meet emissions standards and receive up to £20,000 for a new vehicle. Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, had asked Sadiq Khan to send cars, many of which are expected to be 4x4s and pick-up trucks, to help save lives and provide transport in Ukraine.
