Toyota has issued a recall for 50,000 cars in the US and warns drivers not to drive because of defective Takata airbags that could explode and injure or kill people.

Toyota has recalled nearly 50,000 vehicles in the United States and advised their owners not to drive them until their faulty Takata airbags are repaired or replaced, as a defective part could potentially explode upon airbag deployment, potentially causing serious injury or death. The affected vehicles are the 2003–2004 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, and 2004–2005 RAV4.
