NSW Independent Planning Commission approves $152m Glanmire solar farm near Bathurst, subject to conditions for dual land use and site rehabilitation.

The NSW Independent Planning Commission has approved the $152 million solar farm at Glanmire near Bathurst after imposing several strict conditions, like maintaining the agricultural land capability for dual land use and completely rehabilitating the site at the end of the project. The approval comes after awaiting sanity for a long time, following the Brewongle and Eglinton applications during recent years. The solar farm is situated around seven kilometers east of Bathurst and its approval will help the area contribute to the renewable energy needed before 2030.
