France has reduced the number of spectators attending the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics due to security and organizational challenges. The event will take place on the river Seine, marking the first time an Olympic opening ceremony has been held outside the main athletics stadium. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced that around 300,000 ticketed spectators will be allowed to attend, down from initial estimates of 600,000.
