Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Former Pakistan PM, Imran Khan, has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by a Pakistan court for allegedly leaking state secrets. In a statement earlier today, Khan's media team revealed that the case involves Khan allegedly releasing contents of a secret cable sent by Pakistan's ambassador in Washington to the government in Islamabad. This is Khan's second conviction in recent months, with the former cricket star previously receiving a three-year sentence in a corruption case, although his jail term was suspended as he challenged the conviction. This sentencing comes less than two weeks before the February 8 parliamentary elections in Pakistan, and Khan and his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, are continuing to contest the upcoming elections despite the recent verdict and the ongoing cases against him.
