Chita Rivera, the revered and pioneering Tony-winning dancer and singer, died at the age of 91. Rivera, who forged a path for Latina artists, had her death announced by her daughter, Lisa Mordente. Rivera passed away peacefully in New York due to a brief illness. During her lengthy career, Rivera received 10 Tony nominations, with two wins in “The Rink” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman”. In 2018, she was given a lifetime Tony award for her lifetime achievement in theatre.
