Bassist Duff McKagan reveals Slash attempted to sabotage Guns N' Roses' hit "Sweet Child O' Mine" due to his dislike of its three-chord progression.

Duff McKagan, bassist for the rock band Guns N' Roses, revealed during an appearance on the Songcraft Podcast that guitarist Slash initially tried to sabotage the iconic song "Sweet Child o' Mine." According to McKagan, Slash was not a fan of the three chord progression that eventually formed the basis of the song, and told him they needed to get rid of the song. Slash then came up with the now-famous intro to the song, which McKagan suggested was an attempt to derail the song.
