NHTSA concludes 8-year investigation into Chrysler Ram, Dodge Durango trucks, finds no design/manufacturing defect in rollaway incidents.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has ended its 8-year investigation into Chrysler and will not issue a recall for certain Ram and Dodge Durango pickup trucks. After reviewing over 1,400 reports of rollaway incidents involving vehicles put in park, NHTSA found no evidence of a design or manufacturing defect causing these issues. This investigation followed a 2016 probe into similar complaints about Chrysler vehicles, but no recall was sought in that instance either.
