Melbourne doctor sentenced for forcing Iranian asylum seeker to work at candy shop.

A Melbourne doctor has been sentenced to three and a half years in jail after forcing a Iranian asylum seeker to work against his will at his sweet shop and threatening to have him deported. The asylum seeker, who had fled to Australia with his family, was subjected to gruelling hours and paid only $10 an hour for his work at the Persian confectionery shop. The doctor's wife was acquitted of aiding and abetting.
