Delhi High Court dismissed a PIL seeking inclusion of ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy in Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme due to petitioner's absence.

The Delhi High Court dismissed a PIL on Monday seeking the inclusion of ayurveda, yoga, and naturopathy in the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) scheme. The court passed the order after the petitioner, BJP leader and advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, failed to appear for the hearing. The PIL had contended that the Ayushman Bharat scheme is currently limited to allopathic hospitals and dispensaries, excluding various indigenous medical systems like ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, siddha, unani, and homeopathy, which are deeply rooted in India's traditions.
