Benton Harbor Housing Commission presents 5-year capital improvements plan, discusses financing with Michigan State Housing Development Authority and considers HUD's Rental Assistance Demonstration tool.

The Benton Harbor Housing Commission has presented plans for capital improvements in the city over the next five years. The Benton Harbor City Commissioners received a report detailing updates to operations and security at Harbor Towers, management at Harbor Towers and Buss Avenue development, general operations, resident programs, and boiler replacements. The commission is in talks with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority for financing and considering using the HUD's Rental Assistance Demonstration tool to possibly secure better rates for residents. The feasibility of relocating Harbor Towers residents during renovations will depend on an asset analysis and the nature of the work being done.
