The Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore will expand fivefold by 2032, aiming to reduce peak clearance times to 15 minutes, with initial construction starting in 2025.

The Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore will undergo a significant expansion by 2032, increasing its size five times. Construction begins in 2025, with the first phase involving an extension at the Old Woodlands Town Centre and Bukit Timah Expressway, set for completion in 2028. The redeveloped checkpoint aims to reduce average clearance times during peak periods to 15 minutes from the current 60 minutes and incorporate automated immigration clearance systems and holding areas for traffic to minimize road congestion. Land reclamation is scheduled to start in Q3 2024 and is estimated to be completed by 2029.
