The seller, Steve Mauro, tried to stop the car by jumping onto the hood but was thrown off as the driver fled the scene. Mauro sustained minor injuries, and the police are now investigating the theft. They are offering anonymity to anyone who provides information on the incident through Nassau County Crime Stoppers.
