Former UK Speaker of the House Betty Boothroyd's final speech criticises PMs for awarding peerages to donors.

Betty Boothroyd, the former Speaker of the House of Commons, had intended to use her final speech in the Lords to criticise prime ministers for granting too many peerages to friends or those with "fat bank accounts" who had bankrolled the party in power. Lady Boothroyd, who died last February, had agreed the final draft and her former secretary, Sir Nicholas Bevan, has now arranged for it to be published.
