Oregon's Eugene Weekly relaunches print edition on Feb 8 after embezzlement, funded by $150k in donations since Dec.

Eugene Weekly, an Oregon weekly newspaper, will relaunch its print edition in February 2024 after being forced to lay off its entire staff due to embezzlement. The funds were embezzled by a former employee who used the bank account to pay themselves around $90,000. The paper is returning to newsstands with about 25,000 copies after fundraising campaigns and community contributions made the relaunch possible.
