Minister for Enterprise Simon Coveney supports Ryanair's purchase of 25 homes in N. Dublin to rent to cabin crew due to affordable housing challenges in recruitment.

Minister for Enterprise Simon Coveney defended Ryanair's decision to purchase 25 newly-built homes in north Dublin to rent out to cabin crew at Dublin Airport. The airline stated that the lack of affordable rental accommodation has been a significant challenge in recruiting and training new cabin crew members. The homes, located near the airport, will be rented at affordable rates to cabin crew during their first year of employment. Coveney highlighted that this practice is not unusual among large businesses, as seen in Europe and the US, and is not necessarily a bad thing for the housing market, as long as first-time buyers are prioritized.
