Karnataka High Court rejects construction firm's appeal against slum development board's contract termination for delayed work order.

The Karnataka High Court has rejected a construction firm's appeal against the Karnataka Slum Development Board's rejection of its request for an extension of time for their work order and subsequent termination of the contract. The firm, Aishwaryagiri Constructions Limited, had challenged the decision of the KSDB regarding the construction of 1,978 houses for slum-dwellers in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar area. The court's observation highlights that contractors cannot take things for granted and delay work merely because the houses are being built for slum-dwellers.
