Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAHT) has partnered with Regency High School and DFN Project SEARCH to launch a supported internship program for young adults aged 16-24 with special needs. This is the first of its kind in the region, aimed at providing work experience in hospital settings for students with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions. The program is supported by Worcestershire Children First, Worcestershire County Council, and Hft, a learning disability charity. Over 70% of young people who graduate from similar DFN Project SEARCH programs find paid employment.
