U.S. Steel has reached a consent decree with the Allegheny County Health Department, Clean Air Council, and PennEnvironment to resolve incidents at its Clairton Plant. The company will invest $19.5 million in upgrades to coke oven gas cleaning facilities and contribute $4.5 million to support local communities affected by the incidents. Additionally, the decree addresses the plant's power outages in 2019 and 2022.
