Former President Trump exited a Manhattan courtroom amid a defamation damages trial over allegations by writer E. Jean Carroll.

Donald Trump, the former US president, departed a federal courtroom in Manhattan during a trial for defamation damages filed by author E. Jean Carroll. In a previous lawsuit, she claimed that Trump had sexually assaulted her in the 1990s; the court found him to be at fault. Carroll's lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, requested that the jury grant at least $24 million in compensatory damages for the remarks made by Trump in 2019.
