Former prominent Atlanta attorney Claud "Tex" McIver, who accidentally shot and killed his wife in 2016 while they were in an SUV, has pleaded guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to eight years in prison as part of a plea deal. McIver, who was previously convicted of felony murder and sentenced to life in prison in 2018, had his conviction overturned in 2022 by Georgia's highest court.
