Essex Police Chief assures public confidence after 25 officers' dismissals, with 80% public approval and investments in Professional Standards Department.

Essex Police Chief Constable, Ben-Julian Harrington, has assured confidence in the force as a historic data wash review uncovers past records of officers and staff in England and Wales. In Essex, one new issue was identified during the review and investigated but was ruled not to meet misconduct standards. Despite this, Harrington emphasizes the importance of the Professional Standards Department's work in identifying officers who fall short of standards and ensuring appropriate and robust handling of misconduct cases. In the previous year, 25 officers and specials were dismissed, with Harrington personally overseeing 11 of those hearings.
