Once-controversial food in traditional English breakfast may make a comeback.

The English Breakfast Society is advocating for the return of the exotic pineapple, a fruit that was once a key ingredient in the traditional English breakfast. The pineapple, grown 5,000 miles away from British shores in South America, was once seen as a status symbol and a sign of sophistication. The pineapple was considered a high-status breakfast item in Great Britain in the late 16th and early 17th centuries.
