Cumbria Police plans to upgrade their current surveillance system, which includes 80 cameras with an image quality of 720p, to high-definition 1080p cameras. An additional 40 cameras with resolutions higher than 1080p will be installed across the county. The deputy police, fire, and crime commissioner for Cumbria, Mike Johnson, stated that the upgraded system is aimed at preparing for future advancements in technology and providing constant monitoring for public safety.
