A confiscated rare Geoffroy's cat, Dia, found in illegal transportation, is now a permanent resident at Denver Zoo for expert care and safe living.

A rare Geoffroy's cat, found during an illegal transportation attempt at Denver Airport in 2022, has been confiscated by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and moved to Colorado Parks and Wildlife's rehabilitation center. The four-year-old female cat, named Dia, is now a permanent resident at the Denver Zoo, where it received expert care, a safe home, and an appropriate diet. Geoffroy's cats, native to South America, are involved in the exotic pet trade and can sometimes be bred with domestic cats to produce 'safari cats'.
