Black Excellence Awards, featuring categories for leadership, business, and volunteerism, receive positive community response; voting runs until Feb 1st, and awards ceremony is on Feb 10th.

The first-ever Black Excellence Awards have received a positive response from the community, according to organizers. The awards, which honor individuals in leadership, business, and volunteerism, launched in December and feature six categories for public voting, including Female and Male of the Year, Youth, Entrepreneur, Agriculturalist, and Citizen. Nominations closed earlier this month, with voting set to continue until February 1st. The awards ceremony, which still has tickets available, is scheduled to take place on February 10th at Retro Suites.
