Lagos State plans to establish a state-owned airline, pending federal government approval and operational contingency.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced plans to establish a state-owned airline to handle passenger operations, as well as commence construction of a new airport in the Lekki area. The airline plan has been in development for months, with the state finalizing the financing model for the project. Governor Sanwo-Olu stated that the Federal Government's approval and operational contingency are also needed before the airline can be implemented.
