NASA's Ingenuity Mars helicopter concluded its mission after sustaining rotor damage during its last flight on Jan. 18, 2024. The rotorcraft, designed as a 30-day technology demonstration, exceeded expectations with a total of 72 flights, logging more than two hours of flight time in short hops. The historic first powered flight on another planet has prompted NASA to add two mini helicopters to future Mars missions.
