Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A., a Brazilian low-cost airline, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The airline has secured $950 million in debtor-in-possession financing from a group of bondholders to help raise capital, restructure its finances, and strengthen its business operations for the long term while continuing to operate as normal.
