CDC reports more American women dying after cosmetic surgery in the Dominican Republic.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported a rise in American women dying after cosmetic surgery in the Dominican Republic. Between 2009 and 2020, 93 cosmetic surgery-related deaths occurred in the country, with all but one in women. Liposuction was involved in at least 24 of the 29 deaths. Obesity and multiple procedures in one operation are major risk factors.
