A landslide in Yunnan's Zhaotong City buried 47 people.

The Ministry of Emergency Management has activated a level-III emergency response to a landslide in southwest China's Yunnan Province, resulting in the deaths of 47 people from 18 households. The landslide occurred at 5:51 a.m. in Liangshui Village, Tangfang Town, Zhaotong. The national commission for disaster prevention, reduction and relief launched a level-IV emergency response the same day. Wang Xiangxi, the minister of emergency management, emphasized the need for scientific and efficient rescue operations, with safety monitoring measures in place to prevent secondary damage. Search and rescue efforts are underway, with 33 engineering vehicles dispatched to aid the scene.
