A Special Court in Bengaluru directed the transfer of gold and diamond jewelry confiscated from the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to the Tamil Nadu government. The jewellery served as material evidence in a case against Jayalalithaa and others concerning disproportionate assets. The Tamil Nadu government will handle the disposal of the jewellery, and the court also instructed the payment of Rs 5 crore to Karnataka for the expenses of the trial conducted in the state.
