Suspect Denis Bégin, linked to Old Montreal fatal fire, denies starting it, offers photo on cloud account to prove another person responsible, awaits possible immunity or sentence reduction.

Court documents identify Denis Bégin as the suspect in the Old Montreal fatal fire, where seven people died last March. Despite admitting he was present at the scene, he denies having started the fire and claims another person is responsible. Bégin, a convicted killer, was caught on video in the area before and after the fire. He claims to possess a photo of the actual arsonist on a secure cloud account and is offering to show the photo to investigators in exchange for immunity in the arson case or a reduction in his life sentence for a 1993 murder. No charges have been laid.
