Governments are urged to restrain the "billionaire class" as Davos gets underway.

The wealth of the world's five richest men has doubled since 2020, reaching $869 billion, while five billion people have become poorer. This comes as business leaders gather at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Oxfam has urged governments to tackle corporate power, implement taxes on excess profit and wealth, and promote alternative forms of shareholder control, such as employee ownership.
