Quebec man who blamed wildfires on government pleads guilty to setting 14 fires.

A Quebec man named Brian Paré has pleaded guilty to setting a series of fires last year which burned hundreds of hectares of forest and forced hundreds of people from their homes. Paré, 38, admitted to 13 counts of arson and one count of arson with disregard for human life in the courthouse in Chibougamau, Quebec. Two of the fires he set led to the evacuation of approximately 500 homes in Chapais, Quebec on May 31st. The first fires were set on May 31st, three days after the Quebec government had banned open fires in or around forests due to dry weather conditions.
